Daintta are a rapidly growing, values-driven team of specialists who work with government clients across Cyber Security, National Security, Law Enforcement and Telecommunications. We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission of protecting the UK through data-driven insights and solutions. As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with our public sector clients and project teams to design, develop, and implement DevOps solutions that meet our clients’ requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their DevOps engineering needs and objectives
  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality solutions for cloud and on premise environments
  • Utilise your expertise to architect robust and scalable systems with network and cyber security best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to gather project requirements, analyse feasibility, and provide technical recommendations
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in DevOps engineering and share your knowledge with the team
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within the defined timelines and budget
  • Accurately delivering high quality work to agreed timelines, including taking the initiative and knowing how to jump straight in
  • Supporting client engagements, including pitches and presentations
  • Helping to support & grow Daintta by actively inputting into the company strategy and helping to shape our future

The role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non-exhaustively:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field

• Professional experience as DevOps engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry setting

• Experience with working with working with one or more Cloud service providers – AWS, GCP or Azure

• Experience developing cloud solutions that can be ported to on premise

• Good understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles, and experience in practical application (e.g. provisioning/deployment via Ansible, Terraform, Helm)

• Experience building solutions with Network Security considerations

• Good understanding of networking concepts such as Private VPCs, Security Groups, NAT Gateways

• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments

• Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum. In particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the client

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges

• Excellent communication and presentation skills or Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members

• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in fast-paced environments

• A passion for delivering high quality solutions that meet client expectations

• Familiarity with Software Engineering practices and principles, such as CI/CD pipelines for verifying, building, testing and pushing deployment artefacts

• Experience in OCI containerisation (e.g. Docker) and associated orchestration technologies (e.g. Kubernetes)

• Experience in setting up centralised logging and monitoring of deployed infrastructure

• Knowledge of infrastructure security principles and best practices
